A historic moment!
The very first local CYA Meeting for the UK members took place on the 8th August 2020.
In the very beginning, there was, without a doubt, a sense of awkwardness and unfamiliarity, which can only be expected when meeting so many new people for the very first time.
The evening began with short self-introductions from everyone, and moved on to listening to the testimonies that we gained through the CYA World Camp (30th July - 1st August 2020). It was the perfect opportunity to reflect on what they had learnt throughout the Camp and especially through the sermons of Pastor Ock Soo Park.
As they began to open their hearts and share their testimonies, it was soon clear that there was one message the stood out for them.
'We always tried our hardest to please God and to glorify him. However, we would fail so often and simply follow our own desires, much like the woman caught in the act of adultery in John 8. However, it is because we are so weak and helpless that we were able to reach out to God and have faith in the grace that he has bestowed upon us. We were like those in Romans 3:23, but God has given us Romans 3:24 and for that we are so thankful.' Romans 3:23-24 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: After testimonies, the evening concluded with a game of Kahoot where the first prize was taken by the youngest member. All in all, there was no doubt that this evening was not upheld by man but by God. It was the very first step for the work of CYA that will take place in the UK. God has called upon all of us to do his work and we are so thankful that we are able bear this yoke together.
